FAQ
Questions before you start tracking?
Clear answers about screenshots, worker privacy, billing, account deletion, and proof-of-work records.
General
What is Tracely?
Tracely is a proof-of-work time tracking platform for clients and workers. It helps clients review tracked work sessions using screenshot-based proof while giving workers control over when tracking starts and stops.
Who is Tracely built for?
Tracely is built for clients, freelancers, remote workers, agencies, and small teams that need transparent proof-of-work records for tracked time.
Does Tracely process payments between clients and workers?
No. Tracely does not process client-worker payments, hold funds, provide escrow, manage invoices, or issue payouts. Any payment arrangement between a client and worker happens outside Tracely.
Screenshots & Tracking
When are screenshots captured?
Screenshots are captured only during active tracking sessions after the worker manually starts tracking. Tracely does not capture screenshots when tracking is stopped.
Can workers delete screenshots?
Yes. After a screenshot is captured, workers have a limited review window to delete it before it becomes visible to the assigned client. Deleted screenshots are not counted as proof for the related work interval.
Can Tracely track workers silently?
No. Tracely is not built for silent monitoring or hidden surveillance. Workers manually start and stop tracking, and screenshots are captured only during active sessions.
Who can view screenshots?
Screenshots are intended to be visible only to the worker who captured them and the client associated with the relevant project.
Billing
Is a credit card required for the free trial?
No. Tracely offers a free trial without requiring a credit card.
Do workers need to pay for Tracely?
Workers invited by a client are not billed directly by Tracely. Subscription billing is managed by the client account.
Who handles subscription billing?
Tracely subscription billing is handled by Lemon Squeezy. Tracely does not directly store full payment card details.
Privacy & Security
How is screenshot data stored?
Screenshots are stored in cloud storage and are accessed using time-limited signed URLs. They are not publicly accessible.
Does Tracely record keystrokes or browser history?
No. Tracely does not collect keystrokes, typed content, clipboard contents, webcam recordings, microphone recordings, GPS location, website browsing history, or personal file contents.
What happens if a client wants to delete their account?
If a client has active projects, active worker assignments, or ongoing sessions, Tracely may ask the client to complete or close those projects first. This prevents workers from unexpectedly losing access to work logs or proof-of-work records.
